Can Your Company Help to Honour Ireland's Heroes?

The People of the Year Awards are inviting companies to play a part in honouring Ireland’s heroes through sponsorship opportunities at the prestigious annual awards. Organised by Rehab and broadcast live on RTÉ in December 2016, the Awards are Ireland’s answer to a national honours system and are Ireland’s longest running awards show. With a tradition over 42 years of honouring hundreds of people, the awards offer a unique opportunity for companies to play a role in recognising the people who are shaping Irish society.

Potential sponsors are being invited to be associated with an individual award such as Young Person of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, Community Group of the Year, International Person of the Year or one of the many general People of the Year Awards. This is a great opportunity for companies to be associated with a historic Irish brand and an event that highlights all that is good about Ireland.

Mo Flynn, CEO, Rehab, said “This is a great opportunity for companies to be associated with a historic Irish brand and an event that honours our country’s heroes. The awards recognise bravery, selfless dedication, charitable and humanitarian work, community spirit and sporting achievements. We invite companies to play a big role in honouring these heroes.”

The People of the Year Awards have been organised by Rehab since they began in 1974. Previous high-profile award winners include: Paul O’Connell, Panti Bliss, Yes Equality Campaign, Brendan O’Carroll, Katie Taylor, Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell, Brian O’Driscoll, Keith Duffy, Padraig Harrington, Christy Moore, Sir Terry Wogan, Bob Geldof and Niall Quinn. These well-known names are part of a bigger story – the story of hundreds of ordinary people who have been honoured in Ireland for the extraordinary things they have achieved. That is the magic of the People of the Year Awards.
