CareLink, one of the country’s leading providers of care in the home for older people and people with disabilities, has launched a campaign to hire more than 30 Home Support Workers in the Dublin and Wicklow area.

The home support organisation, which is a division of the Rehab Group, changes the lives of more than 800 adults and children every year by supporting them to live independently in their own homes.

As the organisation continues to develop and grow, the service is now looking to immediately hire more than 30 permanent Home Support Workers throughout Dublin and Wicklow.

CareLink is recruiting for 30 roles in Dublin and Wicklow

CareLink’s home-based respite service gives hundreds of carers and their families a temporary break from the difficult challenge of round-the-clock caring for their loved ones.

Kerry Byrne MacCarthy, Talent Acquisition Manager at the Rehab Group, which operates CareLink, is encouraging people from all backgrounds to apply for the positions and says full training is provided.

“If you have experience caring for people in their homes, have an interest in the area of care or have looked after a family member, then we want to hear from you,” she said.

“We provide training to all our new staff and they receive a recognised qualification even before they start work, so we are really interested in hearing from people from all walks of life, once they have a strong interest in improving people’s lives.”

Almost 30% of people over the age of 65 live alone- among those aged 75 and over, 95% would prefer to stay in their own homes. Home care professionals can make a real difference by providing the supports necessary to allow people to continue living in their own homes and maintaining their independence.

“We understand the stress that people face when they are caring for their loved ones 365 days a year. That’s when we step in and give primary carers a chance to take a break. A career in home care, as a Home Support Worker, can also provide help and respite for carers of people with disabilities and complex needs enabling them to continue on and keep their loved ones at home.  Our Home Support Workers really are a lifeline to families across the country. Home care is flexible, rewarding work that can be hugely worthwhile, providing lots of variety and lots of job satisfaction,” added Ms MacCarthy.

The roles come with a permanent contract and favourable terms and conditions.
