South African Challenge – November 2011

Rehab is looking for volunteers of all fitness levels to join us on an unforgettable adventure as we explore South Africa in November 2011. Volunteers are offered a unique opportunity to enjoy a trek through this land of incredible natural beauty and spectacular contrasts, while, in the process, helping to raise funds for services for people with disabilities in communities around the country.

The 9-day walking tour of Cape Town and the surrounding countryside encompasses treks through the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, the Silvermine Nature Reserve North and enjoy stunning views of both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans at the Cape of Good Hope peninsula.

Participants will also get to admire the panoramic views of Cape Town from the top of Table Mountain; visit a penguin colony at Boulders Beach; explore Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second oldest town; and take a guided tour of Robben Island, the World Heritage Site and former prison where President Nelson Mandela spent 27 years.

To join Rehab on this 9-day walking tour, participants are asked to raise €4,950. All of the proceeds will go towards the development of Rehab services nationwide. To find out more about the walking tour and fundraising requirements, contact Deirdre Bolt, Fundraising Department, Rehab on Tel: (01) 205 7231 or by email: deirdre.bolt@rehab.ie
