The NRC is the National Learning Network's service user forum. The purpose of the forum is to represent the views and opinions of National Learning Network service users and to ensure that they participate in the National Learning Network's decision-making processes.
The NRC has a seat on the National Learning Network Board of Directors and on Rehab Council, the policy making body of the Rehab Group.
Each National Learning Network training centre has a local representative committee, made up of service users in each of the training programmes. These committees hold meetings on a regular basis to bring issues of relevance to service users to the attention of staff and management. This enables service users to have a say in how the training, education and employment services they use are run.
The NRC works in partnership with National Learning Network to ensure that service users Charter of Rights and Responsibilities is adhered to and provides advocacy and assistance to service users where this is needed.
The NRC also has a wider political brief and lobbies Government to seek a better deal for people with disabilities and to ensure that essential services are provided.
