SUPPORTED ACCOMMODATION

Supported Accommodation provides a safe home environment for people of all ages who have a disability or are marginalised. The accommodation provides both security and a sense of place for tenants, and housing and support relief for their families.

The accommodation, which can be on a permanent and/or longer term transitional basis, is in a community based setting. The accommodation is a person's home, a place where they can live as independently as possible, either on their own or with others. Supported Accommodation also includes Hostel Services provided at both Tralee and Bantry.

Different types of supported accommodation are available, depending on the level of support needed by the user. These include:

  • Independent Living, with minimal evening or weekend supports available if needed, e.g. an on-call service.
  • Low Support accommodation, with evening or weekend supprt and no sleep-over.
  • Medium Support, with evening and weekend sleep-over supports.

Individual tenant support needs are continuously reviewed.
