ABOUT REHABCARE

RehabCare operates a wide variety of responsive health and social care programmes which reach into communities the length and breadth of Ireland.

Each year more than 2,600 people of all ages and from all walks of life avail of these services which range from resource centre activities to care work delivered in people's homes.

Our clients include people with disabilities and their families, older people, children, people who have been long-term unemployed and those who wish to find jobs in the health and social care sector.

Choice, quality and personalised services are the cornerstones of RehabCare. We pride ourselves on the flexibility of our programmes, which are all designed to meet the individual wishes and requirements of each client.

We are also committed to ensuring that our clients play a full and active role in the decisions that shape the services they use through our client representative body, the National RehabCare Advocacy Council (NRAC).

People First

In addition to ensuring the active participation of our clients and their advocates in the development of our services, RehabCare is dedicated to working in a spirit of partnership with organisations of people with disabilities, the voluntary sector, health boards, government departments and state agencies.

All our programmes are managed and delivered by committed professionals who recognise people as individuals with a right to dignity and respect as well as top quality services. RehabCare recognises that staff training and development is crucial to the success of all their community services. RehabCare's internal training programmes enable all staff within the organisation to perform their tasks with confidence and understanding, knowledge, awareness and sensitivity. RehabCare recognises that staff training needs are ongoing as individuals progress in their career path or as their roles change within the organisation.

RehabCare services are both progressive and dynamic. They are supported by a commitment to quality assurance and research into best practice, which ensures that RehabCare remains at the cutting edge of service delivery. Substantial project work is being carried out in the following areas:

  • Autism
  • Rare Disorders
