Refill for Rehab

– Refill your empty ink cartridges with Eco Cartridge and help raise vital funds –

In a special initiative taking place as part of 1 Day for Rehab, Rehab is encouraging Dubliners to bring their empty ink cartridges to Eco Cartridge centres across Dublin (see http://www.ecocartridge.ie/map.html for details of over 100 locations) and help raise vital funds for Rehab’s high-quality services in the process. Eco Cartridge has agreed that for every ink cartridge refilled through its drop centres from now up to June 20, it will donate €2 to Rehab.

Pauline Crowley is Rehab’s Head of Fundraising: “We are thrilled that Eco Cartridge has joined our growing list of supporters of 1 Day for Rehab, our first national fundraising appeal. 1 Day for Rehab is about recognising that Rehab is here every day, 365 days a year, supporting people in their local communities and we are asking the public to support us in return on 1 Day for Rehab. All over Dublin, people are undertaking a host of fun activities and challenges to raise funds for vital services, with everything from treasure hunts to tea leaf reading, and lunches to barbecues taking place.

“Rehab now urgently needs funds to enable the continued development of its high-quality services across Dublin. By refilling your empty ink cartridge with Eco Cartridge, not only can you be assured of an excellent product, you will also be supporting people with disabilities and others who are marginalised in enabling them to realise their aspirations, learn new skills and live more independent lives.”

Alex Murphy of Eco Cartridge said: “We are very excited about the launch of over 100 drop centres in Dublin on May 31 and are delighted that we can use this occasion to support Rehab. It only costs €12 to have your cartridge remanufactured, €2 of which goes to Rehab, and the cartridges are of guaranteed high-quality, so supporters of Rehab are getting a really good product in return. We hope that the public gets behind Rehab with this initiative and considers switching to Eco Cartridge’s cost-effective and environmentally-friendly ink solution long-term.”

Every year, Rehab supports more than 7,600 people and their families in 125 centres across Ireland, through its resource centres and training centres, its residential and supported accommodation services, and its respite care, outreach and home-based services. The people who currently use Rehab’s services include young people and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, people with autism and people with an acquired brain injury. A range of essential services is also provided to older people, carers and others who are marginalised.

About Eco Cartridge

Eco Cartridge Ltd. is a 100 per cent Irish-owned business remanufacturing ink and toner cartridges for the Irish market. The factory was set up in 2009 following an academic study entitled ‘Import Substitution’. Using 2008 figures on ink and toner importation (supplied by the Central Statistics Office), this study revealed that an astonishing €153,750,000 of printer cartridges are imported into Ireland each year. Spotting the opportunity to keep this business in the home market, Eco Cartridge was established.

Eco Cartridge is fronted by Alex Murphy (‘Smart Alex’), an engineer with over 15 years’ experience in the industry. He is responsible for overseeing a high standard of production and quality control. Eco Cartridge currently employs eight people and has over 100 agencies set up around Dublin. Eco Cartridge is proud to be the only factory in Ireland remanufacturing printer cartridges. We beat all our competitors on price and are their equal on quality and performance. As well as this Eco Cartridge is environmentally friendly; each ink cartridge that is remanufactured and sold makes a significant contribution to the health of our planet.
